I idolized my Aunt Edith.  She had a beautiful home, she always looked gorgeous, and I loved the way she talked and laughed.  I wanted to be just like her when I grew up.  She took care of me often when I was a child and would drive all the way to Bloomington to take me to the big city of Peoria to stay with her.  She even let me stay in her basement apartment once all by myself which was pretty awesome when I had to share a room with two sisters at home.    Aunt Edie taught vacation bible school and one summer she cooked a fish which we all shared as she told us the story about Jesus sharing fish and bread.  The very day before I began third grade Aunt Edith magically appeared at my house with new dresses for me when all I had to wear were hand-me-downs.  In 1986 my only child was born and Aunt Edith visited us and presented me with the blanket she wrapped me in when I was a baby.  I only wish I could be half as wonderful as she and I hope she will save a place for me. 

Aunt Edith was one of a kind aunt.She was always prasing the Lord and counting her blessings. She always enjoyed coming back to her childhood home in Farmington,IL and have holiday dinners with her family. She love to bake, cook and make gingerbread cookies with her great nieces. She thought it was so wonderful to be an aunt but a Great Aunt was really special in her eyes. I will miss her laugh, smile and all the wise wisdom she would give  you when asked.She is in heaven now with her precious Lord and Savior and what a wonderful reunion she is having I can only imagine the excitement she must have felt.She will really be missed.
